Lori Couture

Heather Lesperance is married and has 2 beautiful daughters. She danced competitively for 15 years at American Dance Academy and Susie’s Dance Pointe- Dancing solos and group numbers in styles, Cecchetti ballet, pointe, lyrical, jazz, hip hop, musical theatre, production, and kickline. Winning numerous awards including “Dancer Of The Year” at her studio. She has taught at Dance Express for 15 years, with a few breaks to start her family. She Teaches solo and group numbers in styles: ballet, pre pointe, pointe, lyrical, jazz, musical theatre, and kickline. 

Nicole Mikail: joined Dance Express in the fall of 2011, and has loved every minute of her teaching career. She has had countless dancer experiences, studying numerous types of dance over the past 25 years, highlights include; dancing competitively at Debbie Felton's Academy of Dance, training in Cecchetti Ballet and continued dance education through various workshops and conventions including Chicago National Associate of Dance Masters (CNADM). "I am so honored and proud to be a part of such a great program; to be able to teacher others to dance as well as express themselves, telling their own stories is so rewarding to witness. I cherish the time I get to spend with my students and I love watching them learn and grow not only in dance, but as people as well." 


Lenise Smith has been with Dance Express for over 20 years! "I just can’t believe I’ve been doing something that I absolutely Love for so long, but even more than that I’ve taught and watched so many youngsters who have grown into Amazing people! I am honestly Blessed to be a part of such a wonderful program as well as starting out so many 'babies' in the world of Dance!!"

Michelle Wilkie is a mother of two wonderful girls, and a grandmother of a beautiful little girl. She started her dance career as a student at Vivian's School of Dance back in the 70's. She followed the program when it moved from Wayne to Garden City and became Dance Express. After graduating from High School, she became a teacher and has been teaching ever since! Her favorite genres to teach are Tap and Jazz. "My favorite aspect of teaching dance has been the memories I have made through the years, and being able to see all of my students grow."

Samantha Burlingame: has been dancing since age 3, and began dancing in the Dance Express Program at age 6. She is experienced in all types of dance, with extraordinary experience in jazz, ballet (pointe), and lyrical. Throughout her dance career she has held the position of dance assistant to Program Director Lori Couture. "Lori has mentored me greatly and shared her teaching experience and knowledge with me along the way."  In addition to Dance Express, she also danced on the competition team at Debbie Felton’s Academy of Dance for two years. Utilizing her twenty years of dance experience, she is happy to be a member of the Dance Express teaching staff. 

Kayla Wilkie has been a part of the Dance Express family for over 20 years. Starting with her first class at the age of 3, then becoming a teacher’s assistant/ substitute, and now a teacher. Her favorite dance genre is Tap, due to the endless possibilities and fun, upbeat nature. Besides dance, her other hobbies include camping, kayaking, and reading a good book. She looks forward to many more exiting years at Dance Express!
