CITY OF GARDEN CITY NEIGHBORHOOD STABILIZATION PROGRAM

Program Description

The City of Garden City, Michigan will apply for funds under the American Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008 (Public Law 110-298, “HERA”) for the purpose of assisting in the redevelopment of abandoned and foreclosed homes under NSP2.

City offices will be closed on Friday,  July 3rd for the holiday.  Trash pick will NOT be delayed.

Should Mr. Walker be elected Mayor, another seat will open on the City Council.  Top two finishers receive four year terms.  All others serve two years.

FOOD COMMODITIES

Surplus government food is distributed on the fourth Tuesday of each month to low income families and senior Garden City residents at the Maplewood Community Center.  To receive food, clients must register in advance.  To check the qualification guidliens CLICK HERE.  Call 793-1877 to register.

FARMER'S MARKET

                                                                             

The DDA and the Chamber of Commerce are sponsoring a Farmer's Market every Wednesday from 9am-2pm through October.  A large selction of locally grown fruits, vegtables and plants will be available for purchase in the GC Town Center parking lot.
