Department Overview
The City of Garden City Parks and Recreation Department is housed upstairs at the Garden City Civic Ice Arena. This office oversees many activities, facilities and parks, among them include the Civic Ice Arena, Adult Softball, Pavilion Rentals, City Parks, Dance Express and Adult Fitness Programs.

Our mission is to provide recreational opportunities that enhance the quality of life and meet the needs of its citizens through high level programs, facilities, and professional staff. The community park system consists of approximately 209 acres: 101 acres owned by the City, and 108 acres owned by the School District and several parochial schools.

The Parks and Recreation Department works closely with the School District and volunteer organizations to assure full utilization of municipal and school facilities.
