MINI PARKS: Garden City has approximately 22.8 acres of small parks (Arcola, Helen, Florence, Douglas, Lather Marquette Center, St. Raphael, St. Dunstan's and Kiwanis) that range in size from .4 acres to 5 acres and serve as mini-parks.
NEIGHBORHOOD PARKS: In Garden City, neighborhood parks range in size from seven to thirty acres in size. There are eight school-owned and City-owned parks (Garden City Junio High, Burger Center, Farmington, Henry Ruff, Memorial, Moeller Field, Maplewood Center, and Rotary Park) that provide approximate 78.5 acres of neighborhood parks. In addition, Schoolcraft College provides an additional 22 acres of land available for recreation purposes.
COMMUNITY PARKS: Two park facilities, the Garden City Park and the Garden City High School serve as community parks totaling approximately 85 acres of community park land.
In addition to parkland, Garden City owns and operates a number of indoor recreational facilities, such as the Maplewood Community Center, the Garden City Civic Arena (ice arena) & Log Cabin.
