WHAT IS THE CBD?
This is the core area of the downtown referred to as the Central Business District zoning district and includes the businesses along Ford Road between Brandt and Garden and along Middlebelt between John Hauk and Block. To promote reinvestment in the core area regulations were adopted to specify design standards for buildings and signs and a mixture of retail and office uses that would favor pedestrian traffic. Recent building renovations, such as Dr. Barsamian Dental Office, Hershey’s Shoes, Boland Florist, State Farm and former Hands & Hearts Daycare, have been designed based on the CBD design standards.
