FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER:
WHAT SERVICES ARE OFFERED AT THE FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER?
The Family Resource Center offers a variety of programs for families with children from birth to 16 years. The CARING Project provides: Welcome Baby baskets for families with newborn children; and the Home Nurturing Program, home visits by a registered nurse for families with children from birth to 3 years. In addition, a parenting skills class is offered through Garden City Hospital for parents with children ages 3 to 7 years.
The Youth Assistance Program provides: educational support groups for parents and their children ages 7 to 11 periodically throughout the year; Life Choices, for parents and their children ages 12-16, a weekly educational support group; community service opportunities for youth; outdoor team challenge events for families; and reality visits to lock-up facilities. Other programs are added on an as needed basis-call for more details.
