WHY WAS THE FAMILY RESOURCE CENTER STARTED?
The Family Resource Center, formally known as the Youth Assistance Program, was developed in response to the behavioral needs of Garden City youth, ages 7-16. The purpose is to provide early intervention for youth in order to avoid more serious problems with family, police, courts and schools.
The Family Resource Center was expanded with grant funding from the State of Michigan to include prevention programs and multiple levels of intervention for all children and parents.
