I NEED TO OBTAIN A LOCAL BACKGROUND CHECK; CAN I GET ONE AT THE POLICE DEPARTMENT? A local Police Clearance Letter (one where only Garden City Records are checked) can be obtained at the Garden City Police Departments Records Bureau during their normal business hours. Picture ID that includes an address must be shown and a short form completed by the requestor. There is no charge for this service; you must be a Garden City resident.
