To report a missed pick-up contact the DPS at 734-793-1800.  For missed pick-ups, after 4:30pm, call GFL direct at (866)772-8900.
A map with pick-up days is listed here.
Your trash pick-up services will be delayed on the following holidays:
New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. If your pickup day falls on or after a holiday during the business week, services will be pushed back one day.

All Garden City homes were issued 96 gallon green rolling refuse carts in the summer of 2016. If you are a new resident and a cart was not left for you or your cart has been stolen or damaged, please contact the Department of Public Service at 734-793-1800.
Garden City residents have the option of receiving a 65 gallon rolling cart for voluntary curbside recycling.  To receive a recycling cart and begin participating call the DPS at 734-793-1800.  View a list of items that can be recycled to the right.
Compost will be picked up the first full week of April  through approximately the second week of December.   Please plan your clean-ups and trimming accordingly, as compost cannot be mixed with your trash at any time. The special Christmas Tree pick up is December 26-January 15.  During the composting period, residents must use a regular refuse container 32 gallon size with a "Yard Waste" recycling sticker or Kraft-type brown paper bag specifically designed for yard waste for curbside yard waste collection. Marked cans and compost bags should be placed at the curb for pickup on the same day as regular refuse collection. Yard waste placed in improper containers or mixed with regular refuse will not be collected. When set out for collection, yard waste shall be separated from regular refuse approximately 5 feet. Call DPS at 734-793-1800 for yard waste stickers.

Large, bulky items, such as appliances and furniture will be handled on your regular trash day at no additional charge.  You do not need to schedule a pick-up.  Accepted items include washers, dryers, freezers, air conditioners, hot water tanks, stoves, microwaves, couches, chairs, tables, dressers, etc.  Please remove doors and racks from refrigerators and freezers.
